MeitY’s lithium-ion battery (LIB) recycling technology, developed at C-MET Hyderabad, enables efficient recovery of high-value metals—Lithium, Cobalt, Nickel, and Manganese from assorted discarded LIBs. Using a sequential solvent-extraction process after generating black mass, the technology offers a scalable, economical, and environmentally responsible solution for e-waste management, with six months of technical handholding for commercialization.
