Crop residues such as straw and stover are affordable ruminant fodder but have low protein (3–5%) and high lignin (15–18%), limiting digestibility and intake. This technology delignifies residues, enhancing nutrient availability, digestibility, and overall animal productivity, particularly during critical growth phases in dairy and meat production systems.
