Edavarembil Gold, developed through mass selection (1994–2004), is a nutmeg variety with horizontal branching, bold nuts, and dark red mace. Tested at ICAR-IISR, Kozhikode, it showed the highest essential oil content (13–15%) and α-limonene (9.84%). Drought-tolerant with extended shelf life, it provides high yield and market appeal.
