The Office of the Principal Scientific Advisor to the Government of India in partnership with Red Dot Foundation, British High Commission, and FICCI FLO will commemorate India’s 75th year of Independence by honouring 75 Indian Women in STEAM (fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) through ‘She Is’ book series. The aim of the book series is to showcase more women role models for youth, make visible the leadership of women and generate interest in the SDGs.
On March 3rd at an event in New Delhi celebrating International Women’s Day 2022 hosted by British High Commissioner, the Principal Scientific Adviser to GoI Prof. K. VijayRaghavan, His Excellency British High Commissioner Mr. Alex Ellis, Ms. Supreet K Singh and Ms ElsaMarie D'Silva from Red Dot Foundation announced 75 women in STEAM on March 3rd, 2022 at New Delhi. These 75 Women in STEAM will feature in the second edition of "She Is" Book series as part of celebration commemorating India’s 75 years of Independence– Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav.

The first edition of She Is covered “Stories of Women Advancing the Sustainable Development Goals in India” and was launched on 25 November 2021 by Hon’ble British High Commissioner Mr. Alex Ellis. Subsequently Hon’ble Consul General Mr. David Ranz of the US Consulate General Mumbai hosted a physical launch along with a roundtable Accelerating Gender Equality. Some articles featuring the first book are in the Times of India and India Together.
