The Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India congratulates Prof. V Sundaresan, University of California, Davis, USA; and Prof. Jainendra Jain, Penn State University, USA and Lodha Theoretical Physics Institute, India on receiving the Wolf Prize in Agriculture and Physics, respectively. The laurates were awarded for their breakthrough discoveries at an official ceremony in Jerusalem, Israel on 18 June 2026. The Wolf Prize is awarded annually to scientists and artists for their exceptional achievements in science and arts. Prof. Sundaresan was recognized for his key discoveries in plant genetics and crop improvement, while Prof. Jain was recognized for his contributions towards our understanding of the two-dimensional electron system.
