𝐃𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐜𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢s𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐀𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝐈𝐧𝐟𝐫𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐀𝐜𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐬 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐚 The Indian Science Technology and Engineering facilities Map (I-STEM) Official, an initiative of the Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India, was launched by Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on 3 January 2020 to make scientific research infrastructure more accessible and collaborative. Today, ISTEM serves as India’s national equipment repository, hosting over 30,000 scientific instruments and facilities and enabling researchers, innovators, startups, and institutions across the country to identify and access advanced research infrastructure. With more than 1 lakh equipment bookings facilitated to date, ISTEM is helping maximise the utilisation of high-value scientific resources while fostering collaboration among academia, industry, and government research laboratories. By improving access to shared infrastructure, the platform is strengthening India’s research ecosystem and enabling researchers to focus on discovery, innovation, and impact.
