Launch of INDRA CZ! A special evening as we celebrated the launch of INDRA CZ (Indian Researchers & Academics in the Czech Republic), a platform for the vibrant Indian research and academic community in the Czech Republic to promote India-Czechia academic and research collaboration. Ambassador Raveesh Kumar, in his welcome remarks, underscored the role of INDRA in creating a bridge of collaboration between both countries. 15 member INDRA Executive Committee members were introduced followed by the official unveiling of the INDRA-CZ logo. Chair of INDRA-CZ Rupendra Kumar Sharma, presented the organisation’s Charter, outlining its mission, objectives, and future roadmap. The audience was also honoured to receive an inspiring message from the Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India Prof. Ajay Kumar Sood, highlighting the important role that researchers and innovators abroad can play in advancing global scientific cooperation. The energy continued with Lightning Talks by seven INDRA members, who showcased 🇮🇳🇨🇿 collaboration opportunities spanning defence and aerospace (Rupendra Kumar Sharma), smart systems (Ajayraj Ramaswami), energy (Naini Jain), AI and cybersecurity (Debapriya Sengupta), advanced materials(Sriram Sundaresan), healthcare technologies (Renu Kushwaha, and agri-food innovation (Piyal Mukherjee). The discussions then moved to two engaging panel sessions exploring: 🔹 How INDRA-CZ can build meaningful India–Czech research and innovation bridges moderated by Pawan Kumar Mishra with Prof. Zdenek Zufan, Jakub Zelizko and V. Subramaniam Subbu as panelists. 🔹 India-Czechia Opportunity Matrix moderated by Maitrayee Gupta, Ph.D.and Dhananjay K. Sharma, Ph.D., Mohin Sethi, Mitali Mithilesh and Pragya Balot as panelists. The evening concluded with a warm vote of thanks by Co-Chair of INDRA-CZ Dhananjay K. Sharma, Ph.D. The event, moderated by Gowri Shaiva and Maitrayee Gupta, Ph.D., was attended by over 70 Indian researchers and academics from all over Czech Republic. The journey of INDRA-CZ has just begun, and we look forward to seeing this community grow into a strong bridge connecting researchers, innovators, institutions, and industries across India and the Czech Republic.
