Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India, Prof. Ajay Kumar Sood, has been elected as a Corresponding Member of The Australian Academy of Science as part of its 2026 cohort. This recognition honours his distinguished contributions as a pre-eminent physicist and acknowledges his leadership in advancing global science and scientific cooperation with Australia. Each year, the Council of the Australian Academy of Science invites up to two distinguished overseas scientists to join the Academy as Corresponding Members. Prof. Ajay Kumar Sood is the third Indian scientist to receive this recognition.
