The Office of Principal Scientific Adviser (PSA) to the Government of India has identified “Waste to Wealth” as one of the nine priority missions; with the aim to identify, develop and deploy technologies to treat waste. The Office of PSA in partnership with East Delhi Municipal Corporation (EDMC) is issuing a global Request for Proposals (RFP) in partnership mode for “Waste Mining and Land Recovery at Ghazipur Dump Site in New Delhi.” Proposals are invited from technology partners for recovery of land at the open dump site through demonstration/ implementation of technology that ameliorates landfill waste. Multiple technologies may be selected for implementation, operating in parallel, to address the landfill challenge in a multi-pronged fashion.

Key Objectives of the RFP

The Office of PSA is issuing a global Request for Proposals (RFP) in partnership mode for “Waste Mining and Land Recovery at Ghazipur Dump Site in New Delhi”. The RFP aims to undertake deployment and implementation of proven technological solutions for the following two challenges of the Ghazipur dump site:

Removal and valorization of the legacy waste at the open dump/ landfill site; which is approximately 14 million tones of mixed waste
Management and treatment of the continuous inflow of 2200 tons of fresh waste per day.

Proposals can address either one or both of the objectives mentioned above.

This RFP aims to shortlist multiple national and international agencies that are capable of meeting the above stated objectives. Selected companies will be expected to make part financial and/or in kind contributions towards the setting up of the pilot, and run and manage the project for 18 months. Contributions by the company(ies) will add weightage for RFP application evaluation.

Technologies that achieve the stated objectives outlined in the RFP will be considered for scale up.
