The Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India has been advising the government from time to time in the context of evolving S&T polices and formulating S&T interventions in various sectors that are of strategic and/or socio-economic importance to country. Such tasks are formulated and implemented in partnership with various ministries, scientific and other departments, institutions academia and industry. The Scientific Advisory Committee to the Cabinet (SAC-C) is a mean that facilitates formulation and implementation of such tasks. SAC-C has eminent senior-most officials and experts drawn from the government departments, mission-oriented agencies, academia, public sector organizations, industry, public and private R&D institutions and non-governmental organizations.
